I owned 3 oranges before.
First: TH30. Loved it. Never should've sold it.
Then: Rocker 30. Liked it a lot.
Lastly: TV50. Loved it at first, until I played it long enough to realize how overly bassy it was on channel B and how boxy channel A was.
I really do miss the TH30. However, they never come up used around here (the only one I ever saw was mine) and the prices have gone up by almost 200$ since I bought mine in 2011.
Then the OR15 came out and I really like what I heard. However, none poped up used in my neck of the woods and folks a bit farther on Kijiji never want to ship. So:
Long & McQuade is discounting the black ones in june for 850$ canadian instead of 1000$... Had to get one and it came today.
I've only played it for 10 minutes but I'll say this: the major thing I liked from the TH30's tone is there: that thickness in the mids that makes it heavy even with a moderate amount of gain. I'm a punk/hardcore/somewhat metal kinda player and at 12 o'clock I have all that I need, maybe push it to 1 o'clock but that's as far as I need it to go (and I do love my saturated tones). I'd probably dial it back a notch or two with a band though. The 3-band EQ is a nice plus (I got a long really well with the shape knob on the TH30 but it was worthless on Channel B of the TV) and the reason why I chose this one over the Jim Root Terror (and at this point, with the sale at L&M, the Jim Root was more expensive...and I like the headshell much better so...).
I've never been a fan of el84-based amps but this and the TH30 were perfect for me. Could be that the tonal characteristics of these tubes merged with the "orange-based tones" just work well for me, I dunno...
Still, it's too early to really review anything but just setting every knob at noon and playing 10 minutes brought a major smile to my face, which the TV and the Rocker never really made happen...
I would've preferred the Orange tolex better but I have to admit that the black one with gold piping does look kinda snazzy too.
Cheers!
