NAD on way, Ampeg GVT15H

If you guys have followed my posts in the past you know I LOVE vintage Ampeg stuff so to add to my VT-22 combo and Reverb Rocket combo I grabbed a GVT15H for 275 used plus tax and shipping.

I'm very excited as I have been looking for my Ampeg VT-22 type tone in a smaller lighter more portable head and this seems to be the ticket..

Any users on here ? What do you think of the GVT series and how does it compare to the 1970s Ampeg amps ?

I will post a little review once I get it here early next week.. Another bonus is that it is cathode biased and has speaker outs for most speaker combinations !

From that demo and others I have watched of the breakup tones of these they sound VERY similar to the VT-22 and v4 sound... I will compare it directly with my VT-22 when I get it and post my thoughts

The GVT line does indeed sound very good. I think by now I have played most of the different models. But I am worried about their build quality/reliability, and they seem overpriced for Asian-made amps.

Hope the thing proves durable enough for your uses, and that you didn't spend a lot on it. Because they sure do sound good.

Boy...275...you would have to hit the garage sale lottery to even be able to scratch build one for that price.
Would be great if you pulled the chassis and too some gut shots .....

I've been getting deals like crazy lately.. Just picked up a Hughes and Kettner Statesman 2x12 cab with Eminence speakers for 225!

I'll try to take gut shots but I'm not the most amp/tech savvy so no promises!
