NAD: Ordered an ENGL Fireball 60

Ordered an ENGL Fireball 60 the other day new, from musicians friend. Will be arriving tomorrow ! These ENGL's really blow away all the other high gain amps i've heard (of course, this is for the sound I desire) I am the single guitar player in my band, so don't have to worry about cutting past a second guitar.
I think i'll be totally happy with the Fireball since it can deliver brutal tones, without paying for any frills (I don't need footswitchable channels, and individual EQ, or any of the MIDI stuff) Just a really great amp. That's what I love about my JCM 800, all tone, no frills.

I'll post clips when it arrives tomorrow. Happy to be part of the ENGL club now : )

Sounds like a nice purchase. Les Paul + Invader bridge + ENGL = !!!

Thanks, Yeah... I have a felling i'm gonna be getting some extreme lows with my set-up. Just how I like it ! : )

I love my screamer 50 head. ENGL amps have a very cool sound about them.

ENGLs are great man. I have a E-530 preamp in mind for a 2/90/2 poweramp. Ah ah ah.
It sucks that all GC and MF deals excludes ENGL(and most of other good stuff) though.

Engls are so great. Congratulations. I am so happy with my Powerball 2 so I know you are going to be happy with the Fireball. Looking forward to the sample.

My buddy had the Fireball 60. I played with it. We're both more into classic rock/metal (AC/DC, Candlebox, etc). So he sold it. But for brutal metal -- yeah... the Fireball smokes. I actually played through an Engl Richie Blackmore head a few years ago and it was nailing plexi tones. So I know that Engl can nail some of those too. The only thing I haven't heard from an Engl yet is a great clean tone. But that doesn't mean they aren't there. I just haven't played with them enough.

The clean tone is actually why switched from a 5150 to an ENGL. It sounds really nice for an amp with so much gain on tap. I don't play very much metal these days but the amp is still working wonders for me. Although, mine (Screamer 50) is the 'tamed gain' version geared more towards rock. If you go to youtube you can find people displaying nice lighter tones with the amp. I can't speak for the cleans on the Fireball, Powerball, SE etc.

congrats! I just got my Fireball 100 sunday! awesome amp for sure , I traded my JVM for it. I put a Amperex in the v5 and a new Mullard RI high gain in the v6-WOW sounds great! smooth sweet gain! must try you guys! need a mic now for sound samples. I running the head to a Marshall cab with greenbacks, god this amp has low end and punch! sounds so full.
