Well last thursday was the actual nad... Anyway, just got this off of ebay.
I absolutely love it! Ten minutes with it and I could find tones I like better than what I could get with months of trying with my Dual recto. Compared to the recto, it's a lot smoother, not nearly as fizzy or buzzy (I don't like to scoop the mids on either amp btw, they're right around 12:00). Leads are better sounding on the Uberschall without even changing the EQ from a rhythm setting.
To me the Uberschall seems much more musical overall than the Recto. It response much better and clearer to anything I do, either the way I play or with the controls on the guitar. The only thing I miss from the recto is the nice chewy low end the 6l6's give it. Not that the Uber's low end is bad it's just different. The Uberschall sounds like it will cut much better in a mix than the rectifier does.
I've been playing way more in the last few days than I have been in a long time, and I'm slightly more confident in my playing again. It's amazing the difference getting a tone you want makes in your playing and playing confidence.
