The other day I get an email about GC having financing on there used gear. So check out the site and there it is. A week later this guy shows up:
The GrandMeister Deluxe 40. They included the WiFi adapter and I had already bought a fsm432 fotswitch used with points from my gear card.
It took me a day or 2 to get some time with it and download all the apps on my iPad. Also I found there is android/ windows and Mac software for the GrandMeister app. I haven’t dug in any deeper than the 92 or so factory presets yet but just those are great.
I wasn’t sure how it was gonna sound with 4 el84’s but it is amazing. It can do fendery cleans, it can do vintage crunch, but the lead and the ultra channels are where the fun is. It has a built in noise gate, effects and red box direct out, plus a built in boost all controlled from midi. And it weighs less than 20 lbs.
I was gonna get a TubeMeister 40 instead, but there was no noise gate or boost. The ultra Channel and effects are just a bonus. I probably won’t use the built in effects much as I have a Nova system and a g system to run in the loop. I have been running it through my genz Benz g- flex cabs loaded with man o wars and g12k100 speakers and for 40 watts of el84 power it sounds really good. I need to try it in a full band setting once I make a few channels for songs
Now I just need to program 128 channels worth. If anyone has a chance to try one of these, do it. I wanted one after seeing the old 36 and was just saving up for one later this year. Anyone want a carvin v3 or 3?
