Picked up a pair of new noisemakers over the last week or so

Got a clean little Bugera V5 for my workbench. Fun amp, compresses a little too easily but gets some great Billy Gibbons-ish tones. Sounds a lot better than the beat to hell Trademark 10 I had there.

Then while I wasn't particularly looking to fall for a new amp I did, oops! I was demo-ing some guitars thru an EVH 5150 III head and I just dug the hell out of it. It was making everything sound ridiculously good. A nice, clean used one came up on a local gear exchange and I worked out a good deal for it. What a killer amp! Some of the GC's are blowing them out new for $799 fwiw

Re: NADs

What don't you like about the Trademark 10?

The reverb doesn't work and it isn't the best sounding amp. Running the line out for recording works much better sonically. The larger Trademarks sound a lot better, I am sure the small speaker has a lot to do with it

Re: NADs

Awesome congrats! Sonically, they are a really fun amp to play. The blue channel is excellent, and I can just get lost inside the red channel when playing it.

You're right about the small speaker in the Trademark 10. I
had the Behringer clone of that amp, the "Vintager 30".

The preamp was great. Essentially a Sansamp GT2.
I liked setting the gain lower on the high gain mode on the US speaker mode and Brit amp sim chosen. Then I'd boost it with an OD pedal which got me passable tones at low volume. But once you got any sort of volume going the speaker just ruined it. But it sounded great through the DI.

Re: NADs

Put a JJ EL84 and a Sovtek 12AX7LPS in the Bugera V5 and it was a great decision. The amp sounds more open, the gain is stronger and more useable and the cleans are way fuller. This one is done.

Re: NADs

Bugera's are nice little amps. Got me a G5 head into a 1x12 w/Greenback.
I also slapped a Sovtek in. Me likely. Congrats on both amps!

Re: NADs

I play this little Bugera more than any other amp I have right now, I love it. It is super fun and really sounds pretty good. Very much in the spirit of the old LP Jr amps and the little Champs.
