Nailling the tone I need

Well, after experiments with pedals I'm down to three:
TS9
SD-1
DS-1

But non of them is perfect for me.

I've been thinking of a mod that would make some sort of marriage between the TS9 and the Boss options...

I'm looking into something that will give me a Tube Screamer tone with a little more distortion... I think that solos from Gary Moore on the Still got the blues record and modern Santana are good examples.
I played a TS-9 and loved it for solos but it wasn't that great for rhythm, I liked the DS-1 and SD-1 for rhythm but liked them a little less for solos.
Is there a good combination like a SD-1 or even an DS-1 mod with a TS circuit? Will I do better just by buying a TS-9 and tweaking it inside?
Or should I just look into other brands? (the choice here is limited).

Bad monkey.

Hey! no need for name calling!!! want to take it outside? :rocket:

Just kidding, I should try it. After playing the Grunge pedal from the same series I'm a little scared to try out the other pedals...

OCD by Fulltone.

I tried one at the store the other day and it sounds like it would nail your requirements

Re: Nailling the tone I need

Get a TS9 RI and sen it to StratDeluxer97. He is a forum member and his modded TS9 is throatier than a stock TS9 and has a lot more gain. I use and it will never come off my board!

Re: Nailling the tone I need

A bad monkey is a TS with slightly higher gain. Exactly what you're looking for.

Never tried the Grunge pedal, but I do own the bad monkey and it's very much what you describe that you're looking for.

Visual Sound Dr Jekyll and Mr hyde! Has a ds1 and tuberscreamer in one package! But it also has a toggle switch for both to change the sound. The screamer has a bass boost and the distortion has a sharp or blunt setting.
