I have a fender nashville tele and I am switching the bridge pup
to the duncan 5/2 and leaving what is in the neck there. My question is
what pup would you suggest for the center positon? I want to be able to hit
tele twangs and strat quacks. I play country :22:

You need to decide whether you want the bright highs and big bottem of a vintage alnico 5 Strat pickup or the sweeter highs and softer bass and more pronounced mids of alnico 2.

You have it both ways with your new 5/2 bridge pickup!

For vintage 50's Strat tone, I'd go for alnico 5 and the Duncan SSL1. But if you'd like to have a warmer tone with less glass go for the alnico 2 APS 1. The SSL1 and APS1 have staggered poles like a vintage Strat...if you want flat poles go for the SSL2 or APS2.

The Antiquity Texas Hot RW/RP middle is also worth a mention: it's alnico 2 also and has an amazingly great tone! A little fuller and chunkier than the SSL1 and APS1. The Antiquity Texas Hots are what I use in my Strat...I love 'em! Alot of people thnik they're the best Strat type pickup they've ever used.

I have an extra Antiquity Texas Hot RW/RP middle pickup available if you want to PM me.
