NBD

Raging BB Gunologist
I have a very short list of basses I want;

Jazz - White w/ rosewood and red tortoise

Precision - Black w/ maple and gold anodized

Fretless - Not 100% sure. I haven't settled on any particular model just yet.

I wasn't planning on getting a new bass for awhile yet, but I saw the price drop on the American Standards and figured I should take advantage of it. I traded in a guitar and brought home a Fender Jazz. #1 of 3 is now checked off my list.

Re: NBD

Took it to rehearsal and it sounded better than I expected. I was a little nervous because everyone is used to the sound of my P/J, but the Jazz sat better in the mix. The Jazz was also (not surprisingly) more articulate, which allowed me to hear what I was doing better than I'm used to, so I could get a bit busier without it feeling muddy and felt I had more dynamics to work with.

Also sounded great with overdrive.

...so glad I bought this bass. :dance:

Re: NBD

Cool, you've been on a roll getting that rig. Glad it's working out.

It is. I kind of had to put things together quickly as our first gig was tonight. The band sounded great. The backline was provided, so no chance to try my own amp, but it was pretty nice being able to show up with nothing but a gig bag.

Re: NBD

One of our originals... we've been calling it Sam's Song because Sam can't seem to come up with a name for it.

Oddly enough, one gig down and our band still does't have a name either.
