NdFeB

Has anyone here ever tried replacing the magnet(Ceramic, AlNiCo etc..) in a pickup with a neodymium magnet? I once ordered a neodymium bar, but the poles were on the top and bottom and the're supposed to be on the sides i think. So yea it was really weak, but if you did it correctly i believe they would be EXtremely high output, possibly too much.

just an idea ive had.

Re: NdFeB

dmerker, i am not thru with magnets, but - as i read - the specific dimension of an Alnico are very important - otherwise they would not keep its magnetic charge. There has to be a certain distance between the poles in relation to the thickness. Neodyms and ceramics could have other physicals. For a standart humbucker you need the dimensions of these alnicos and the poles on the side.
