Neck and middle pickups for HSS Strat

Hi, its me again.

Building a strat kit. (My original thread asking for advice is Here... 'Newbie Confused by an abundance of options-advice please' I just thought rather than resurect my long winded explanation, I'd start this one. Short version...pawlonia (empress wood) body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard. 6-screw style trem. Fender Frontman Reverb amp, with Behringer V-Amp in the mix. Beginner guitarist. Using this guitar for bluesy rock (Jeff Healy, SRV (yeah, right!), Skynyrd, etc), would like to do some Hendrix on it. Want a heavier bridge pup for slipping into Bon Jovi etc. But have another guitar with HH setup for heavier stuff like ACDC, Ozzy and Def Leppard.

Played a Fender American Special with the Atomic Humbucker and Texas Special neck and mids. LOVED the sound. (hated the budget!) Especially position 2. That was pure ecstacy.

I've acquired a JB Jr. for the bridge on my kit. I've got a dpdt on-on-on switch to wire it Serial/Single split/Parallel. I'm thinking of running the JB without a tone pot, and wiring the neck and mid each to their own 250k tone. (I'm told that will keep the JB bright. Right or wrong?) (BTW, how does the JB Jr. sound in comparison to the Fender Atomic? Will I even come close to how that Fender sounded?)

I'm going with two singles for the neck and middle (Reverse wound middle, if possible). I LOVE the sound of the SSL-1s, though the fingerboard is 12" radius, so I'm not sure about the stagger. I also like the sound of the Antiquity Texas Hot. The Five Two Strat neck (SSL-52n) and SSL-4 Quarter Pounder sound cool but I don't think that's quite the classic sound I'm looking for. I could be wrong, though. The SD website doesn't have sound samples for the APS-2, SSL-2, or SSL-5. I'd like to hear thoughts on those.

Mostly I'd like to hear which of these pickups will best go with the JB for the sound I want. Due to budget, I'm going to have to find some used ones. Anyone out there got some kicking around?

If not, I'm going to have to go with Calig or GFS and maybe swap them out down the road. Should it come to that, which Calig or GFS would be comparable to the SSL-1?

Thanks for your time and patience with a n00b. I can't believe I'm in my mid-40s and I'm still learning all this stuff.
