Neck Blackouts for Tele?

Hey guys, I haven't been here for a while, but I can't find anything even with the Search feature about this topic.

I am not in a band anymore, but I'll still continue recording for my own music, or when friends need my help with guitar stuff.

I love my J5 Tele, but as much as I love the Twisted Tele's tone, the noise is just beyond my control. I know it's really just a part of the Tele's charm, but I've had it.

I want to use Blackouts, but there's no neck Blackouts for Teles, only for Strats.

Now my questions are: Are they making one for Teles, or will the Strat fit the neck slot?

Thank you for your time. I figured to ask since I've never had to replace a Tele's neck pickup before.

There are no Blackouts for Tele unfortunately. If you like to go active EMG has active pickups for Tele.

Do you only get noise in the neck position? Your signature indicates that you have P-rails in the bridge, are you planning to change it too?

I can also suggest a SD hot rails for neck (STHR-1N) this is a single coil sized humbucker with less noise than tele neck pup. You can also shield the electronic cavities and covers. These should help with Humming noise.

If you have any other type of noise your issue may not be the pickup at all.

I guess that, since Strats are more prevalent in the marketplace, replacement part varieties are not offered as much. It was only recently, that we got the Hot Rails Tele Neck pickup. My thought is that if a Blackout model is offered for Telecaster, it will be much later, rather than sooner. Who knows, the R&D guys might have something going on now.

All that said, you will have to do a little routing in your Tele's neck pickup cavity for a Strat pickup to fit decently. Some folks say a Strat pickup will fit in a Tele's neck pickup cavity; not well enough for me. You will definitely need to replace your pickguard. I would look into the Strat model.

I figured I'd need a new pickguard for it, but the routing, from what I last checked, I can put a humbucker in, so the Strat pickup should be ok, just the pickguard's slot I suppose?

I did consider the Hot (even the cool) Rails, and that StraBro, but I just want to rid of this noise issue.

Come to think of it, I've had two techs look at it, and they both said there's no problem with the wiring and grounding. If that's the case, power at apartments aside, I still hear it, and it sucks that I can't use that J5 for recording od/distorted rhythms as you'll hear it buzz whenever you stop.

Can it be the guitar's wiring too? I've seen topics where guys replaced their entire wiring, and it sounded far better because of the quaity wire.
