neck/bridge pu as mid pu

I want to replace the mid pu of my guitar with a duckbucker or a vintage rail. But I can't find any store that sells the middle model (I live in France). Can I use the neck / bridge model instead ? Can I just adjust the height to get a correct output level ?

The middle versions are often rw/rp so you might have to turn over the magnets.

almost all single coils and SC-sized humbuckers are sold as Bridge or "Neck/Middle"

In the specific case of the Duck or Vintage rails, this is the case, the "Neck/Middle" version will set you up fine for most, although some prefer the deeper tone and higher output of the "Bridge" versions, esp. when paired with fullsize humbuckers.... RW/RP is a non issue because both pickups are humbucking ;)

Zerb beat me to it. They both should work fine, it's just a matter of personal preference on which one to use.
