Neck choice to match with the Custom 5

I'm about to get a Custom 5 for my Explorer, I finally decided. I would like to stay with the 496R NECK, or is it too hot to pair with the C5? Which one would be better? 59, Pearly Gates or Jazz? For blues and classic rock tones, and a bit of 80's hard rock.

I use a 59 neck with my Custom 5 in my Les Paul. It's my sound.

It is my firm beleif that there is no better neck humbucker for a Gibson than a Pearly Gates. It can cover so many stylistic bases that it's ridiculous. :burnout:

I've been hearing great things about the Pearly Gates in an Explorer style guitar. I'm thinking of picking one up for my mahogany Hamer Standard.

For a rosewood board, I think the PGn would be fine..not sure if I'd want one in ebony though...too shrill/bright.

59 in the duncan line has always worked well for me in the neck position of my Explorers (and my Hamer Standard). Should match up well tonally with a C-5.
