Neck humbucker recommendation (for Distortion bridge)

Hi guys,

So far I had a JB in the bridge and a 59 in the neck position (with an Alnico 4 magnet to tame the low and high end of the 59) and the pickups really worked well together.

Now I have a Distortion in the bridge position and the combination with the 59 just doesn't work that well. So now I am looking for a new neck humbucker that works well with the Distortion bridge. I have an Alnico II Pro in another guitar and I like it, but sometimes it is a bit too mushy and also its output is too low to keep up with the Distortion. Also I tried a Jazz once but it was too bright for my taste.

I mostly play high gain and only use the neck pickup for slow, atmospheric leads. I need a pickup that is very mid-focussed, without too much high-end sizzle or low-end boominess. Also I don't like ceramic magnets in the neck position because I prefer a more mellow and soft pick attack (quite contrary to my preference for a very sharp rhythm guitar sound with the bridge pickup), which disqualifies the Distortion neck model.

Any recommendations?

A sentient or if your already have a distortion neck, you can swap the magnet with a A5

The Distortion neck pickup with an A4 is just what you are looking for.

I would get Whole Lotta Humbucker. It's mid focused neck pickup that isn't bright or boomy as 59 and has bit more output. It's one of my favorite lead pickups for high gain applications.

Might be worth considering the Demon too, it does well at the neck and handles gain nicely.

Going outside the box a bit, but maybe DiMarzio style midrange would suit this application.
Air Norton is midfocused and good at gain. Or full Norton to hold up against a Distortion bridge.

An SH6N with an alnico 4? doubt that would work well, but I like to experiment.

I'd go with a sentient or whole lotta humbucker. Saturday night might also work but not enough experience with that one

Well I did also replace the screws with hex heads. And it's mounted in a Triple shot and I usually run it either parallel or split to the screw coil.

You can look at a Slash neck, or a magnet swap in the Distortion neck.
