neck match for dimarzio super d

Hey guys, looking for something to go in the neck with a super d in the bridge. Would a 59 match up well? Guitar is a nothing special partocaster, pauwalonia body from gfs.

go for the classic set up super d and a paf or if you like more output try the super 2 with a super d

59N, Full Shred neck, possibly the DDn, DMZ PAF Pro, PAF Joe...

almost anything that's clear sounding and has some sizzle and mojo to it will work.

The Super Dist is pretty high output, but not obscenely so. It matches well with medium powered (ie a bit above vintage spec PAF type) pups, but it should be able to mesh will with more modern, hotter neck pups as well.

Actually the Super D will match up with a Super D tweaking the heights will get them to balance pretty good. What sort of neck tone are you after? I think the 59 would go well with it too.

The Super D is the bacon of the pick up world, everything goes with it.

+1 for two Super Distortions set at different distances from the strings.

Alternatively, try a DiMarzio Bluesbucker with the hotter coil nearer the fingerboard.

rjudo just as ayrton has stated there are many pu's that will go with a super d. can you state exactly what tone you like from a neck pu?

PAF or 59 will do it. What I've heard of my new Gibson 496R pleases me too, that might be a good one as well (I'll reserve judgement until I use it with the band).
Generally, a hot bridge pickup with a PAF type neck works for me.

for many years the super d was paired with the dimarzio PAF for the classic combo, but until the OP states which tone he is going for it is a bit difficult to advise him on a neck pu???

Thanks for all the input guys. I play generally blues/rock classic rock stuff. I'll probably go with a '59 in the neck, since I have one lying around. Again, thank you all for the suggestions.

My 1998 Les Paul DC rocks a vintage Dmz Super D in the bridge and a vintage Gibson patent # pup in the neck. Sounds GRReeeaaaaTTT!!!!!

Yeah if you already got the 59 then by all means try it out good chance you will like it... But if you dont come back and say well the 59 didnt give me enough xxxxxx or had too much xxxxxx from there its much easier to make recommendations.

yeah a PAF works great with the super d!
now where have i heard that before?:banghead::joke:
