I've been playing my LP more lately and am getting more comfortable with it, buy I don't think I'm ever going to really get into the neck humbucker just by itself. Compared to the bridge, its' just so murky & thick sounding. For the type of music I like, it's just kind of pointless.
Maybe a better quality or different pickup would change my mind.
It's ok for a diversion for a few minutes, but if I play for an hour I'd probably stay on the neck for 2 minutes and 58 on the bridge. Not a big middle setting guy either, although I prefer that over just the neck.
I like the single coil strat on a neck much better than the neck bucker on an LP, I enjoy that sound for some bluesy stuff, but to me neck buckers by themselves are a waste of time.
I guess that's why they make that one pickup LP!
