Neck pickup for my baritone

Hey all I'm looking for suggestions for replacing the neck single coil-sized pickup on my George Lynch LTD Baritone (Mahogany body/Maple neck) tuned standard B.

Specs :

The standard neck pickup, which supposed to be a copy of Hot Rails, doesn't fit the bill for me. Too bassy and nasal.

Bright sound are my preference. So far I only liked the sound of one neck humbucker : a SD '59 in a Maple Steinberger Spirit. I also have a preference towards Alnico 5 equipped pickups.

I will use this for cleans and some distorted lead mostly.

Side note : Why does neck pickups sound very nasal? I don't like that nasal sound...

Re: Neck pickup for my baritone

part of it is the nature of the beast. the neck position just has a bassier tone.
if you want a brighter sound try something like a ssl2 if you want a real single coil or if you want a bucker than sounds like a real single coil try a duckbucker or vintage rails. a cool rails or lil 59 (neck version) will get you a fatter tone with more output but still be less bassy

Re: Neck pickup for my baritone

i used to use a pair of virtual2 pups that i liked but have since retired for real single coils. didnt like the first virtual vintage pups, the 2.1/2.2 models are significantly better, but i like the virtual2 better
