Ok, so far I've tried:
-Stock 490R: muddy & weak
-Jazz neck: too bright and weak (but I love it in my Les Paul)
-Distortion neck: actually pretty good, lots of sustain, but too bassy for cleans
-'59 neck: too bright and sterile, not at all what I expected
I put a Custom SH-5 in the bridge and love it. I play hard rock & old school metal. I really like the black winter neck from the samples I heard: high output, but brighter than the SH6n and has good cleans too. But looking at the pic the polepiece screws look kinda rusty. What do they look in real life? Are they like the other Duncan models?
