After going thru over a dozen pickups in the neck of my main guitar, I finally decided to go for conventional and hum cancelling single coils instead of the rails/single coil sized humbuckers I was going for. I decided it after borrowing and installing a friend's DiMarzio Red Velvet and liking the sound... although it's not exactly what I'm looking for either.

Now, I'm not sure if this pickups I have in mind are going to be too low output or too hot for the SH-12 in the bridge, but which one you guys would you choose if you were in my position. I play hard rock, metal progressive, intrumental rock and mostly high gain leads and rhythm (at least with this guitar). I numbered them in my order of preference... From what I've heard in videos, reviews, website descriptions and forums. I also have heard Yngwie's and Paul's recordings with their respective signature pickups.

1. Semour Duncan YJM
2. DiMarzio Injector Neck
3. Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound Neck
4. DiMarzio HS-4

If noise-cancellation is a priority, you can rule out the QP straight away.

Seems to me that you desire something that sounds fatter than a vintage Stratocaster but not as dark as a Li'l 'bucker. I vote SD YJM Fury.

Thanks for the input... You are very accurate about the sound I'm trying to get. I want a traditional styled single coil that has the body and fullness comparable to a humbucker. A pickup that sings, punches, and screams but has presence and doesn't sound neither thin or bassy. A pickup with good dynamcs and a strong picking attack and that balances out well with a low/medium output, bright and percussive humbucker like the Demon. Not too compressed, not too open. So far I'm going to go for the Fury. It is my first choice and all I need is someone that had experience with both pickups to give me his perspective.
