Behold! My new Hopper-Mart acquisition. A Marshall VS100R that my stepson got outta the garbage. (Go ahead Make your Jokes, Ha Ha) .The trash is where it belongs. :laugh2: It's a decent sounding amp for what it is,And it's always good to have S.S. backup thats versatile. It needed a new Input jack (that I already fixed) and the Speaker was deader than Kelsey's Nuts. It sounds good into my 2x12 and kinda looks purtty sitt'in on top.:D So who's got some speaker suggestions? Gotta handle 100w at 8 ohms and I'm not going top shelf on a hopper-Mart amp. There has got to be some good sleepers out there in evilbay land that can be had for cheap, And don't sound like arse.

try these
v30 copy
classic lead copy
Havent heard the classic lead copy but I have the v30 copy and it sounds great. v30 copy is rated at 60w, the classic is 80w but I would think it will be fine.
You could go with a 16 ohm speaker that would drop the output to 50w, and also allow you to connect another 16 ohm cab with it if you wanted.

why not just put a new 300 watt Zakk Wylde EVM-12L in there and put a wood board on the back of the cab ? now that would kick a$$ with a Marshall cranked thru it lol.

If you like the amp, what would be wrong with spending a little money on a speaker? Eminence makes several that will take that wattage, Tonker, Swamp Thang, Texas Heat, Legend 1218, etc. etc. Maybe you can pick up a used model?

Used G12H80 would probably hold up OK. Avatar blew them out cheap a few years ago, so used ones might be coming back to market now even cheaper. I have on in my combo and like it.

looks like it is 100w into 4 ohms, so at 8ohms it will be about 50w.
So find an 8ohm speaker that will handle 50w and you are golden.
