Need help - 4 conductor install Pearly Gates (no green wire)

This is only my 2nd install (first was single conductor) and I am using the schematics but this Pearly gates only has 4 wires and does not have the green wire, do I proceed with the black to the pot and ground the only single silver wire?

any help would be appreciated!

acutaly is it correct that they bare and green are already soldered?

Wait so you do have a green wire now?
If the bare and green are already soldered then yes it's fine. Follow the ordinary wiring schematics on the SD site for the rest.

To be sure, you'll need a meter. Even a cheap one. (Good to have in your guitar toolkit anyway.) Measure from red to bare. You should measure a little over 4k-ohms. If so, you're good to go. If not, it means the green wire is up inside the sheathing somewhere. You'll need to strip off enough to find it. Pics?

Thanks guys, turns out they were already soldered together under the shielding, with an extension added. I clipped the extension and soldered them to the pot and all is good now. Thanks for the help!
