Need help choosing.....

I have a Hamer Vector (Flying V) with an Alder body. I'm looking at the Dimarzio Crunch Lab/ Liquifire set or the JB/Jazz set like my Basswood IbanezRG has in it. Anyone ever put the Dimarzios in an Alder body and how did they sound if so?

They work fine in Alder. I used to have a JEM that's alder + Evo set, sounded great. My friend has a Jackson DK2M that's alder and the Evo sounded fantastic through that, I even liked it better than how it sounded in my JEM.

Crunch Lab and Liquifire should do great in alder too. Petrucci has guitars that are part alder + bunch of other woods and he never failed to get a great sound out of those pickups.

Had an Alder Jackson with the Liquifire and Crunchlab...absolutely loved the Liquifire but didn't care for the Crunchlab. The Crunchlab lives up to the name and I couldn't get a decent clean out of it through any amp or processor. The Liquifire on the other hand is awesome–I've had it in Alder and Basswood, never fails to deliver. Great warm sounds without being mushy, almost a piano-like chime with certain clean tones.

Been a while, but did you make a decision?
