Need help deciding what pickup to replace the JB in my Charvel

Hey, New here; first post.

I've got a Charvel Wild Card #7; she's got a Floyd Rose, ebony board, alder body and THE most EPIC neck I've ever played.
The pickups are direct mounted to the body.

I make note of this because it seems to cause pickups to display a wildly different "attitude" than being ring mounted and kinda just floating in the body.

It has a JB in the bridge; I like it, but I'm wanting something more.
Something slightly hotter, and just a touch more compression and more harmonic overtones.

It's got a master volume/3-way toggle and no tone; volume pot is a 500k (which I've been thinking about swapping for a 1 meg).

I play a lot of punk, metal, blues and shred (I should get licensed and bonded I sweep like a janitor).

Thank you for your time and suggestions; much appreciated.

Whew - tough request!

What sort of EQ curve are you looking for? And what amp? Why do you want "hotter" than a JB?

First thing that comes to mind is the Duncan Distortion. Same wind as a JB supposedly, but with a big ceramic magnet for more output. Worked great in my ebony board Jackson.

^ +1

Yeah, that's the first one that came to my mind as well. Distortion.

Another vote for the Duncan Distortion (TB-6).

If you want even more beast than the JB, but like its general disposition, that's the way to go.
