Sorry I am SOOO confused!

My guitar is home built and am now wiring.

setup is Double Wilkinson Humbuckers with a hotwire/shielding wire (which am using for ground) had setup a 3way toggle switch 1 volume and 1 tone using a map from seymour duncan website and it gave no sound except slight buzz.

I have tried a lot of different things to figure out why its not making sound I have reduced the circuit just pickup and jack - with still just slight buzzing.

Just to clarify only pickup and jack are connected currently.

Pickups have magnification - magnets are charged, and are releasing a steady 10,000ohms at pickup and at jack.

What i have tested;

- tried different pickups
- tried different jack
- lead and amp are in working order - tested with other guitar.

When plugged in there is slight humming which reduces if i touch the humbuckers and no sound if i hit the pickups with a screwdriver or play the strings.

thanks for reading - i have not put up photos as i feel they wont be helpful for this post.

Please help i'm so lost/frustrated!

Thanks in advance!

Re: NEED HELP, guitar wiring.

You're using a stereo jack, and you have the white "hot" wire connected to the "ring" terminal instead of the "tip" terminal. That means your hot output is grounded with a normal guitar cable. Get a normal mono guitar jack, or move the white wire to the "tip" terminal.

Connect the white wire to the red arrow terminal.
