Need help on installing Gotoh tuners

I'm installing a 6 line set if gotoh's and 3 say 1 and the other 3 say 2. Does this mean something like which side to put them on?

hmmm strange... been a while since i installed Gotoh's.... but i know, or think i know they have numbers for the heigth of the string posts... The low ones go on the higher strings for more down pull... only if they are different heights that is

i could be wrong but that is my best guess... hopefully someone with better experience then me can clear it up

you say it's a straight line of 6 tuners in a row set like for a Fender Strat? could it be the set you have is for a 3x3 headstock?
