I'd like to get several ideas on tape before I forget them, and I'm having trouble getting good sound quality with "live recording" (I don't know if that's the correct term...I mean when all the members of a band are playing at the same time while recording)? I realize that this probably isn't the best way to do things, but I really prefer this method (at least for rough stuff). Before, I've used a cheap Sony cassette recorder and the built-in mic (probably a big part of the problem). The strange thing is that my tone always sounds pretty good, regardless of where the recorder is situated, but everything else sounds horrible.
