need help w/ new pups

i'm lookin for new pickups (bridge and neck) for my epi les paul and possibly a schecter ultra (if i decide to get one). i have an sg special with gibson 498t and 490r pickups and they sound pretty good but they have their bad points. i need pickups that can deliver a sound that can be described as mark tremonti (creed, alter bridge)'s live sound-meets-dan donegan (disturbed), which means blistering highs, super clear razor-sharp mids, and moderate lows. i mainly play a dropped d tuning and i judge my mids by playing an open d sus 2. and when i play it, i wanna hear every string, escpecially the top 3. i'm thinking alnico 5 but i would consider ceramic if it will give me the tone i crave. as far as the neck, i dont want the pup to be muddy. i want it clear and little less bassy then most neck pickups, like a prs. i'm open to all brands. any suggestions?

Welcome to the SD Forum, Dangeroso!

A JB(bridge) & Jazz(neck) or Distortion(bridge) & Pearly Gates(neck) will do what you're after, imo.

I think a Custom with a Jazz neck will make you happy too. I actually think the Custom is about as versatile as pickups get.

BTW, is "El Dangeroso" a Flickerstick reference?:)
