Need Help wiring CAPS

What is the best way to wire the CAPS - on the HOT side of pots or to ground? Seymour Duncan schematic shows it wired to the HOT side of the volume knobs but a schematic on stewmac.com showed the CAPS wired on the ground Pin ... if anyone can shed a little light on this that would be great!

I can't imagin there is a difference at all because the resistor (the pot) and the cap are in series and it doesn't matter which come first...

or do you mean how the hole tone circuit is connected at the volume pot?

I don't think it matters. You can connect the tone control to the volume control with the cap like Gibson did or mount the cap on the back of the tone pot like Fender.

If you use shielded cable, like I do, for all of your connections in the control cavity, you kinda have to put the cap on the back of the pot.

Mr. Lew, how did you ever end up in a 16-year old thread? Just catching up on old mail? :boggled:

Must have been been searching for some info, and didn't notice the age of the thread when it popped up.

I've been doing a lot of pickup swapping and wiring the last couple of months, after taking a few years off and concentrating on the acoustic guitar.
