Hi guys!

I perform live through my SWR California Blonde amp/pa and use four differant guitars when I play out: two 6 string Takamines in differant tunings, one Takamine 12 string and one National resonator. The SWR has only one guitar input so when I switch guitars I have to unplug one and then plug in the one I'm switching to and readjust the volume and tone each time.

I'd like to find a great sounding mixer and keep them all plugged into it and keep the mixer plugged into my SWR.

Any suggestions on a simple, reasonably inexpensive mixer that will work well with the SWR?

Some kind of Mackie perhaps?

Thanks! Lew

Rather than a mixer, why not some sort of programmable multi-effect or EQ that allows you to recall one of four different EQ/level settings? You don't really need a mixer unless your playing more than one guitar at a time.

There are programmable EQs for sound reinforcement systems, but they are probably more than you want to spend. Maybe the acoustic version of the Yamaha Magicstomp? You could use its EQ section, ignore its effects, and keep a preset for each guitar.

A passive switch box could handle the guitar selection, if you don't mind have four cords connected at once. Sounds like a potential tangled mess to me - I'd rather just unplug and plug.

What would you recommend Rich? A Line-6 something or other perhaps? Sounds expensive...

I want to avoid unplugging and plugging back in. Don't want to have to turn the amp down to avoid that loud "POP!" when I unplug...

Hey Lew; Another forum I frequent, that mainly deals with sound and recording, highly recommends this little Soundcraft. Its supposed to be surprisingly quiet for its cost.

Thanks Artie! I can't tell if that's a four channel mixer that I can plug four guitars into with each guitar having it's own channel. Can I? Lew
