Need neck pickup for my Gibson LPJ.

I have put a nice harness in it I got on ebay and a Super distortion in the bridge witch I dig so far, question is what neck pickup should I put in there. I was thinking slash alnico pro 2 or 59. Maybe dimarzio paf or paf Master. Or should I go with something more versatile. Gimme some ideas guys[emoji41]

A dimarzio Paf pro if you want to stick to same brand, or a jazz/59 if you want duncans, a mule rebel yell or cold sweat if you are going for bkps.

I have a Duncan Distortion in the bridge and I put a StagMag in the neck.

Classic neck pickup tone and splits to a fantastic sounding single coil.

Pearly is a good choice, as is Demon. Stag Mag is a great sounding pup that sounds terrific split...perhaps a bit too powerful for the neck in series mode, however.

The thing is I don't want an overly bright pickup as my maple necked LPJ is already a bit on the bright side compared to my other les pauls

The Pearly Gates neck and Alnico II Pro will work great in the neck if you don't want an overly bright pickup.

Not sure what kind of vibe you are going for but in the old days we would have gone with two Super Ds. What style of music are you playing? What is your tone end game?

I play everything from zztop to Metallica and sabbath. Thrash and stoner are my bread and butter. I have emg's in most of my other guitars I'm kinda trying to go with an old school vibe with this guitar

I would pop a Jazz in the neck, it is a darker PAF. Very articulate, fat, and round sounding. Don't let the name "Jazz" fool you it is a great rock neck pickup.
