Need Recommendation for Practice Amp

I need a combo amp for home practice and occasional practice with a drummer/band. I currently have a Marshall JVM410h and I hate lugging that thing around for practice. Problem is budget is only $200-$300 and I can't find anything that sounds good in that price range. I was thinking about the Orange Crush 20RT, but it sounds kinda strange on the demo videos. Anyone have any suggestions?

Second hand you might be able to get small tube combo, peavey, fender, laney or crate maybe and then a small tomsline or donner pedal for gain

The Boss Katana is where it's at. Get the 100 if you can swing it. The 50 is pretty good as well though.

If you want tube, look for a Peavey Windsor Studio, JCM800 like circuit, 20w, built in attenuator, able to accept pretty much any octal base power tube. I don't remember for sure how much I paid for mine, but I'm pretty sure it was around or less than $300 for the combo.

P.s. I see you're in Chicago, there is currently one of these Peaveys at the Guitar Center in Arlington Heights for $250

Damn, why is this amp so cheap? The 100w head goes for $250, and the 20w combo for $250. I'm tempted to pick up both. Would love to have another head to compliment my Marshall JVM

I don't think they're the best build quality Peavey has put out, but they are better than most amps in their price range. They were relatively cheap new biggest downside is they're single channel

I bought my Mesa Rocket 44 for $300. There's a decidedly Marshall-flavored small combo that sounds great and is built well.

I'd go for a Mustang III V2, ik it's a little over the budget, but I bet you could save a bit more for a brand new one, or try to find a used one online (make sure the cables it comes with are included).

It has a lot of features, such as aux from your phone to play along to, XLR outputs, a send/return loop, headphone input, and you can get so many good sounds with it. They are great for home use if you want a quality amp that is cheaper. They are also easy to carry and are great live (they are loud enough to go over a drummer etc. and sound great). You can also have a bunch of effects that sound pretty good that you can add that comes with the amp modeling.

Orange Crush 35RT. Great for practice or small gigs. Will keep up with drums.
