Need Some Noises

Does anybody know a site that lets you download free noises in Wav or MP3 format. Things like thundercrashes or any cool noises I could use to set the mood of a song? In particular, I'm looking for a cool thunder noise...

You can try here:

Located under "Nature", but look at the rest of the choices and see what you find.

good luck,

That's interesting. My daughter was asking where she could find the sound of one of those little mini musical boxes just the other day, for a song she's writing. If anyone finds one - can you let me know? Is there a copyright issue at all?

Here is a link to a cool Direct-X plug-in you may find useful. It is a vinyl record simulator. I spent several weeks working on some accoustic arrangements of cover songs not originally created for accoustics. The demo begins with the dusty crackle of an old LP and in mono. At the dynamic moment it jumps into hi-fi stereo and fades back into mono at the end of each song. You can really tweak the sounds from mechanical hum of the motor, warped records, scratches or how dusty the record is. The only limitations are the imaginaton. Besides, it's FREE!!

Hope you enjoy!!!
