Need some pick up upgrade help

I have 4 ESP/LTD EC series guitars. 3 are the EC 1000's and one is a Red Burn.
Of the 4 3 of them have EMG 81/85 the other is Seymour Duncan JB & 59.

I love my LTD's they play better than my real Gibson Pauls (seem to fit me better) but I am unimpressed with the quality of the electronics (the switches & pots etc) as well as the bridges.

As for the electronics I am very unhappy with the EMG's they are just too compressed sounding and feeling for my taste. I just don't think I am an active guy. I am looking to change out pick ups on all 4 (2 of them are tuned to drop B and the other 2 are tuned to drop Db) guitars. I think that I really want 1 of each tuning to have a very "vintage" sound but with modern type out put, then I want the other 2 to have a more modern sound. I really want to stick with Seymour Duncan. The guitars now to me sound closer to an SG than a Paul and I want to get as close as possible to a Paul sound in both the modern and vintage veins. I also want to replace the Pot's (push pull for coil splitting),3 Way Toggle and the Jack to improve the sound, last longer and possibly gain more features is something worth while is out there.
As for the Hardware the Tuners are pretty good so I want to stick with them for now and they have a special nut that supposedly helps with intonation, but the saddles on the bridge are killing me. They aren't grooves barely at all so I find I know the High and Lo strings off of the saddles all together sometimes when in the moment, plus I find that I am breaking strings more on these guitars than about any other I have ever played.

Anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thank you

Re: Need some pick up upgrade help

Thank you for detailing all your needs with such precision. No, seriously, it's usually like "I have a guitar and I want to sound like Jimmy Page!".

I think that you would be pretty happy with a Custom 8 pickup for the bridge. Maybe you should start with a Custom 5 and if that's too vintage for you, swap it for a A8 magnet, and I think you would be in the exact spot you are looking for.

As for the neck pickup, I would recommend you to go for a Pearly Gates for "vintage-with-balls" tone...
