Need some user suggestions (delay)...

I need another delay (for the Mesa Stiletto). The loop is not switchable on this amp so the bypass has to be top notch!

I have an EHX Stereo Memory Man Deluxe, currently in one of the Road King loops. I would get another if I can't something else fun to try out. I love it and the bypass is great.

I also use a pair of Yamaha Magic Stomps, the effects are really good but the bypass is a tone suck. They are employed in the Road King and Mark V, both of which have switchable loops.

I wouldn't mind trying an EHX Cathedral...it has some delay funcionality and lots of verbs, I would expect that its bypass would be as good as my other EHX being in the same series.

I am open to suggestions, it doesn't need to be the baddest super delay ever made...it just needs to sound really good with a really good bypass, and a pedal format would work the best I think.

Tell me what like....

I use an Eventide TimeFactor in the loop of my Mark V. It works great. Lots of headroom.

It has the option of true bypass or buffered bypass (buffered bypass has trails that spill over when you kill the delay). I've A/B'd both ways and I can't tell the difference.

I was eyeing the Eventide and the Carbon copy, I like both company's products. I'll have to check out the T-Rex.

How has Duncan's Deja Vu Tap Delay stacked up?

Re: Need some user suggestions (delay)...

If you have to run the pedal in a loop and use 40 feet of cable in the process you want a buffered signal, not true-bypass... that'll just load everything down and suck all the sound away.

The dejavu has a great buffer... so does the Eventide. Both have switches for trailing repeats but couldn't be more different in terms of function and complexity. The EH memory man hazarai also has a solid buffer, no trailing repeats but it does have reverb & a few other sounds besides delay.
