Need suggestion for bridge pu in dot.

After switching pickups in my Epi Les Paul, I've become less satisfied with the stock pickups in my Epi Dot. I've come to really like the single coil sound from the Jazz neck pu in my LP, so I figure that I would have to be crazy to not take advantage of the Phat Staple offer and order myself a neck version for my dot. The thing is that I like to blend in a little humbucker rudeness from the bridge pu, so I don't think a full set of the Phat Staples is for me.

To give an idea or the tone I like on my LP, I run the slug coil of my JazzN at 10, with the bridge Screamin' Demon (series HB mode) at around 7 or 8 (500k audio taper pots).

Although the Phat Staples should have pretty high output, I don't necessarily think I need to match it with something super-hot in the bridge. I can always back down the volume in the neck, as I usually go with a pretty clean blues tone.

Like you, I'm wanting a staple PU for the neck slot. The poles/magnets are adjustable in height, so you can dial down the output a bit. It should balance okay with the bridge. I'm also thinking of something else for the bridge, like a '59B or a HB-sized P-90. That would make a nice pair.

Personally, I don't think I'll go with a P-90 bridge. I look at my neck pu tone as the main course, with the bridge pu providing the spice. One thing that I've noticed about the Demon in my LP is that it provides a little bit of honk (maybe something like strtat quack) when I attack the strings. There defineitly seems to be a non-linear response thing going on there, which I think I might like even more of on the Dot. I'm pretty satisified with the Demon in my LP, and may go with another one of those.
