Need to fatten strat bridge PU

I put a set of Fender CS FAT 50's in my MIJ Strat (RW neck, ash body), and I really love the neck and middle PU's, but I find so bright and thin the bridge one.
So, I would like to fatten the bridge PU and have compatible output with the rest of the PU's. No matter if it is full HB or S

I already tried the JB and Pearly Gates and did not like the result. Not for me
I am into blues, classic rock style, so I need something that could deliver nice cleans and creamy no-so-hot OD/Dist
My setup: Fender Hot Rod Dlx and Blues Jr....and stompboxes

a 59b is a good overall choice for classic rock and blues. similar output to the pearly gates but a cleaner tone

Try a Little 59 if you have 3 single route, or go the full size 59 with a humbucker route. Also, the Jazz bridge might be a good option. I haven't tried it myself yet but have heard it matches really well with single coils.

I've never been a fan of the JB or Pearly Gates either. Their upper-mid spikes tend to sound kind of harsh to my ears.

You may want to give the Twangbanger a try. It definitely has a little more "oomph" than your typical strat bridge pickup and should help to fatten things up. For a smoother sound and a little more output, you could also try dropping in a little 59'. It sounds kind of in between a full size 59' and a traditional strat single single-coil.

Thank you very much folks! According to the chart, I think all of you are in the correct path. And yes, I have HSH routing so I forgot to say that size doesn't matter
Indeed Koolkat I thinks exactly like you about the JB and PG even knowing are plenty of fans of both Pu's in this board. :dunno:

I went through the same pickups as you as well as the Custom, Custom 5 and the Custom Custom (CC). The CC is the pickup that is in there now and will be for the forseeable future. Perfect match for my strat (alder body, maple neck) and will do classic rock and blues that you are looking for.

The '59 or the Jazz would both match those Fat 50's very well. If snappy, articulate tone is what you want, go with the Jazz. If you want a slightly fatter sound, go with the '59.

If you're happy with the pickup, but just need more oomph, why not fit a Fralin baseplate?

I was considering the baseplate, true, but I don´t think this could be enough to fatten the PU in the way I am thinking.
I mean, I notice really thin and bright the bridge Fat 50's PU. Even if I tweak my amp to get some decent sound, then the neck and middle become terriblement muddy.
I was tweaking PU height too, and I got some improvement, but I am not still happy at all

So I think only a swap could do the difference, and..this is the perfect argument to calm my GAS for a while:laugh2:

Go with the CUSTOM CUSTOM. I think this would be your permanant fix from what you have explained. It has such a buttery tone. Warm. Fat. Beautiful. But, it does lack the clean edge. Overdrive is.....Well, I'm speechless. I still love my 59/CC Hybrid, but IMO, the Custom Custom is the best humbucker on the mainstream market. You can get so many sounds from it.

I tryed a base plate on my own Fat 50 bridge pickup and it made it way too harsh! Don't waste your time doing that....Try a 59 Trembucker or buy the Fralin SP43 single coil sized bridge pickup...I use this pickup in my floyd rose strat and it acts like a P90 and cleans up really well and you'll get a better bridge/middle strat tone that a humbucker will not give you...It's fat and growls but it still cleans up well....My personal favorite bridge pickups that I use in my strats though,are the Twangbanger and the Antiquity Texas Hot Custom..I also like the fat 50s and use the neck and middle with the Fralin SP43....Ask Lew about this pickup and he'll treat you right.
