Need Wiring Assistance for Push/Pull Selector Wiring

Hey everyone,

This is my first post here - hoping someone can help me out. I'm in the middle of wiring my latest partcaster, and I'm running into some trouble. Here's a brief rundown of the electronic specs:

- SD '78 bridge trembucker (single conductor)
- SD STK-S6 (Custom Stack Plus) neck
- CTS 500k push/pull volume pot for pickup selection (no blend option)
- CTS 500k tone pot

What I'd like to do is simply use the push/pull pot as a pickup selector (a la George Lynch). I've started wiring this, and I've been able to get signal from the '78 bridge pickup. I cannot, however, seem to get signal from the neck STK-S6. Here is a wiring diagram that I just put together showing how I've wired this setup. Am I missing something or is it possible that I've got a bad CTS push/pull pot and/or bad pickup (I bought the pickup used, so this is possible).

Thanks for any comments/suggestions/advice!

Matt

Re: Need Wiring Assistance for Push/Pull Selector Wiring

Diagram looks like a blade switch not a push pull, and the numbering is strange even for that.

You'll need to bridge the 'common' lugs or you'll never get sound out of the neck. Also confirm the lug layout for the switch you have because what's in the drawing wouldn't work for any switch I am familiar with. (Unless that's one of those black CTS pots that are intended for surface mount / pedal applications.)

If you have a multi-meter, check the pup first.

Went through all my wiring with my multimeter and discovered that I must have fried a terminal on the push/pull DPDT pot. Pickups were both good, so I got that going for me, which is nice. But I’ll need to order a new pot. Oh well, not that big of a deal.
