I need a deep panel jack like Carvin sells, but not willing to pay 7 bucks shipping for a 5 dollar part. If anyone has one, I'll throw em a couple bucks for it.

Yeah, Carvin and Warmoth have em, there's just not any other parts I need from any of those sorts of places that would help justify a 7 dollar shipping order.

I've noticed the same thing. Most-likely, the only difference between these and a standard jack is that stuff gets trapped inside these, and you can't clean them or bend anything back into place when it malfunctions. But, my guitar won't accept anything else unless I route out one of the topmount control routes (where the volume or tone are currently) for a jack, which would make it a facemount jack. I generally don't like surface-mount jacks, they get in the way (a la SG). Or I could route down into the body to fit a standard jack, but I don't wanna mess it up.
