"new" 80's MJ pickups

No, it wasn't planned. Mainly because I am out of home, out of money and because I won't be able to play my guitars in a looooong time.
Also, beause I got a set of non-t-top patent sticker Gibson PAFs last week...

Sorry fo the off topic!

The fact is that I learnt about MJ just lately (mainly in this forum). I am not a SD user. I have had Hot Rail, P-Rails, '59 and some others in the past, with good results, but I always have prefered Gibson pickups. T-Tops, Dirty Fingers, 500T, Super Humbuckers...
Also my strat has Gibson pickups!
Btw, I can't use the JB. It's just not made for me.

Another off topic?

The (other) fact is that I found a double cream 80's 59BJ and a black 80's APH-1NJ for cheap.
I think they are a steal fo the price, and also, I think I'll enjoy them when I can be able to play them (I'll need a new guitar for them. Sooooo sad!).
I love the sound of Slash in Paradise City and my friend's Epi had 59's and sounded killer, so they won't dissapoint me.

Can you add some info about the pickups, or MJ or something?
Would be cool to know more about them!

I really like 59s. they're a great "vintage" sounding pickup with is glorious for celan stuff.

Re: "new" 80's MJ pickups

Those pickups deserve to live in an American guitar. Any Lester, 335 or PRS Singlecut would be suitable.

It is a shame that the bobbin colours do not match. Your options include hybridising your two pickups for the Slash look or selling the double cream SH-1 '59 to some collector for enough money to finance at least one other SD pickup.

Of couse, they will be in a LP or a SG.
Yes, the cream one is worth some money, but I plan to keep it.
I don't care about the look. Maybe I don't install them together.
Maybe I pair the 59 B with a 70's DiMarzio Paf cream that I love.
Maybe it's too cream for a guitar.

And no, no way I am modifying these babies.
