new acoustic

well, went to samash today to try out the guild GAD 40-CE, not entirely sure what to expect. the guitar is worth around 830 bucks new, and after playing it, i was almost ready to put the money down, asked the guy, and he told me, nope, its on sale for $650!! go up to buy it, he puts new strings on, cleans it up nicely. i was drooling over it the whole time. i give him my mom's credit card, and WHAM, not aloud to buy it cuz shes not with me :angryfire. im going back tomorow to pick it up with my mom, hopefully something doesnt go wrong again.

anyone have any comments about that guild? it played wonderfully, and i spent 2 hours on it although the old strings on it kinda sliced my fingers in half. any comments or tips or anything are welcome.

I'm not to familiar with the new models but I have always been a huge fan of Guilds. I own a Guild D55 that I bought in the 70's and it is an awesome guitar. I've played a few of the Chinese Gullds and felt they were nice guitars as well. Enjoy the new guitar. Hopefully it will give you years of playing pleasure.

thanks, got there this morning, picked it up, its truely a fantastic guitar, i love it so much. im going to have to pick up the case midweek, for some reason they couldnt find it, but whatever, its not like i have any trips coming up.

This is my Guild D55. Bought it a long time ago. Its been in the shop for a while. Its getting a new bridge, new frets and a new nut. Not the best picture, but you get the idea.

budave, thats a really nice guitar. ive heard amazing things about the american made ones. which is what got me interested in this guitar.

anyways, its probably the best sounding under 1k guitar ive ever played. just amazing tone, plays great, good sustain, fishman matrix electronics sounds awsome. i like it more and more every day i play it.

btw, for those wondering, it does have a pickguard, its just transparent, i think it looks really good this way.

I'm yet to play a Guild (not easily available here) but I've heard so much good things that I'll have to soon.

Guilds are great, they are very soild players. I wish I still had my BluesBird.....that is definately one that got away...........
