Not content to just get one I bought 2 new amps today.
I got rid of my Blackstar HT40. It was a great amp for a VERY short while but was really solid state sounding and really lacked real quality harmonic content. Lots of gain, but that was where it ended. I took a loss on the trade, first time I have lost money on a deal in ages....oh well.
I went into a local shop and swapped it (had to fork out 50 dollars) on a used Vox AC 15. I love the Vox, it does nice chimey cleans, has a KILLER Tremolo and a nice reverb. There are 2 channels on this amp but they are not foot switchable. The 'Normal' channel has no tone control, just a volume and a tone cut. The Top Boost channel has treble and bass controls as well as the Tone cut. Vox literature says you can use an A/B box to use both but I'm happy with the top boost channel. This one has a Celestion Greenback, which is a great speaker for this amp. Loud little bastard too. Made in China, but I really don't care...nice amp.
Without the Blackstar my back called out for a high gain combo so that I didn't have to cart around a half stack. While I was in the shop I spotted an ENGL Thunder 50 Reverb...tucked away with some Fender combos so I rescued it from its dark corner. Since ENGL is phasing out the metal face and silver/grey screen it was on special, 799 from 1299 so I purchased it. The thunder is a 3 channel amp but I would call it a 2 channel amp with a boost. It has a great effects loop that can be adjusted for series or parallel and now has Maxon Analog AD9 hooked up. The power section is is 5881 powered (2 of them) has 3 12AX7s in the preamp and the reverb is powered by a 12AX7. The cabinet is a compact but the amp is surprisingly big sounding and evil loud.
Been a big day for amplifiers in my house, I am now up to 6 or 7
