Went to GC this morning to check out the Black Friday scene and walked out with a brand new Jet City Amplification JCA20 head and matching cab. To be honest, I hadn't heard of Jet City Amplification. But then I saw the little "design by Soldano" logo and it got my interest. I plugged in for a few minutes and I was sold. It's exactly what I've been looking for - a cheap hot rodded Marshall style amp. If your local GC has one I suggest trying it out.

From what I understand it's a Mike Soldano design. He partnered up with two other guys in Seattle, and the amps are built in the Far East. It's not Soldano quality, per se, but it certainly looks good, and for the price, I don't think it can be beat. I believe there's also a 100 watter and a design in the works from Andy Marshall of THD fame.
It all looks very interesting to me. The 20 watter is lacking an effects loop, isn't it? I think that's the only thing I'd like to see in it.

It's a very straight forward amp, so no fx loop or verb. Which is ok with me as I never use them. It turns out one of the Jet City guys was also involved with Blackheart, which are supposed to be one of the best bang for the buck amps out there and built like a tank. So hopefully the quality of the Jet City will be about the same.
