New Amp Day!

Picked up one of these little dudes off of Craigslist today for 40 bucks. I know it's not top of the line, and I'm not worried about it. I've moved on from serious tone chasing. These days "Good enough" is good enough for me. I have to say, the built in effects, tuner, and modeling is really handy, and does a decent job of giving a variety of tones on the fly. I wouldn't say that they're authentic amp tones, but they do a decent job of the overall gist of the amp. Anyone else have one?

Re: New Amp Day!

I work at a big music store and it feels like an off day at work if i don't sell one of these. Beginners, casual hobbyists, collectors... everybody likes the Mustang.

Re: New Amp Day!

Sounds like you found yourself a good amp with which to get back into playing. Can't beat the price.

Re: New Amp Day!

I own a Mustang III and I'm a self admitted tube snob. I mostly got the III because it had an LCD screen that was easier to read over the led lights configuration. I like all the effects. I'm mostly into the Fender models and I'll save a few combinations where I hit a sweet spot. Enjoy

Re: New Amp Day!

I love the mustangs. They kick the tar out of any of the line 6 and peavey modeling stuff I've played.
That's definitely what I'm finding. The amp tones seem to be much more natural and open, rather than somewhat compressed and "false" with other comparable modeling amps.
