After getting a good deal on a pristine condition clean one, and trading in my current amp collection, I have my dream amp setup....

Re: New Amp Day

Wow. i consider that a holy grail of guitar amps. I think i tried one once a really long time ago but was too young and dumb to really appreciate it. I'm more of a marshall guy but a lot of great guitarists get amazing sounds out of them. Sustain for days. When i first started playing, Santana had my dream tone and having an amp like the mark v would have been the first thing i bought if i won the lottery. You're a lucky man.

Re: New Amp Day

You stole my rig! :)

I have the same setup. I ordered my 112 Wide-Body Closed-Back cab with a V30 and I really like this combination--better than I liked the 412 V30 Recto cab.

I like the FAT mode in Clean, but TWEED is really great for light crunch tones. In the Lead channel I'll use the MARK IV and MARK IIC+ modes. The middle channel is where it gets really interesting. Between the EDGE, CRUNCH and the super fat MARK I modes...this amp has tones like Disneyland has rides! And each mode reacts differently depending on the power level selected, the recrifier selected and choice of power tubes. And then there is the Graphic EQ. You can get the sounds of a lot of different amps...no digital modelling needed.

Be sure ro read the Owner's Manual.

Congrats.

Thanks guys- studying the owners manual is a must to figuring this Amp out - years ago I tried one of these out in guitar center and couldn't figure it out or get a good tone, so I went with the EVH 5150 III 50 Watt setup- but over a few years I kinda got tired of the compressed feel - it was too easy to play. I ended up buying an Orange Tiny Terror, Marshall Slash SL-5, EVH 5150 LBX and Orange Dark Terror to cover everything- and I still didn't have a clean amp I was happy with- this covers everything.I got tired of constantly digging out a new amp to cover what I wanted.

The cab I got from sweetwater - I'm ordering a boogie badge so they really match

Footswitch and Casters included- the dealer called up Mesa Boogie and they're sending me the cover at no cost since it was supposed to be included in the deal.

The story is a gentleman bought it for his man cave and it never left his living room- a year later he traded it back in to upgrade towards a $4,000 private reserve flamed bubinga version... The only thing I didn't get is a transfer of the factory warranty

The bottom cab is a closed back and ported- for massive thump
