Hey so i just bought a used Peavey Triumph 120 head, all tube.

Both the distortion/ and crunch channels work fine but the clean channels volume pot doesn't work. It stays the say volume at am setting.

It shouln't be that big of a deal to fix because my dad is an electrical engineer but are the volume pots on amps something i could find at radio shack? or would i need to order a new one from somewhere?

please help me out if you can

thanks.

Good question, I am not sure what to do but, I am having problems with the volume knobs on my Marshall. (pots are scratchy, sometimes when the knob is turned up the volume dosent go up) Maybe someone could kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

If it is like a lot of Peaveys it may have a bad solder joint on the circuit board. Could be a bad pot. Don't use Radio Shack parts :22: Not very good quality.

Call up peavey and ask them if you can order a replacement pot direct from them. Whatever you do, don't try something that has more resistance, thinking it'll work (my HUSH Super C went up in flames that way :laugh2: ) Bear in mind, pots usually have some sort of watt tolerance, so it's best to order one direct to avoid any potential harm to your amp.
