Hey everyone, recently started a blog focusing on amp histories and origins, with some musician profiles as well...

A Joke Named "Boogie": Early Years of Mesa http://voodooguitar.blogspot.com/2016/10/a-joke-named-boogie-early-years-of-mesa.html

American Muscle: the Ampeg SVT http://voodooguitar.blogspot.com/2016/09/american-muscle-ampeg-svt.html

SRV Gear Guide: http://voodooguitar.blogspot.com/2016/09/the-srv-gear-guide.html

Upcoming topics include Orange, Sound City, Simms-Watts, and a speaker guide.

Hope you dig, cheers!

I've done the blog thing and appreciate how much work it can be. You have a fine start here. I really dig the collections of historical photos.

A lot of this stuff has already been discussed in many places, but the knowledge is scattered all over the and presentation often iffy. It is a good thing to present the stuff better.

Speaking of SRV, I saw the exhibit at the Grammy Museum that included his Number One guitar. Man, that gave me chills, and I'm not even that big an SRV fan. It had so much mojo, even behind glass.

Interesting that the Dumble owned by Jackson Browne, SRV, and John Mayer sold for $160,000.
I don't know of any amp that ever sold for that much.

That's exactly why I chose to do this... i was tired of having to go all over the internet for info. Glad you like it! Might do a Jimmy Page gear guide next, Hendrix & Gilmour have been done to death already.

My eyes popped out of my head when i first read it, too... there also might have been a problem with the sale, as found here: http://blogs.wsj.com/bankruptcy/201...rland-john-mayer-may-get-stiffed-on-amp-sale/

I bet SRV's actual custom-made Dumble SSS heads would go for even more, if Jimmy ever parted with them.
