New Amp. Suhr Badger 30

I have had this for a few weeks now and love it. It is one of the EL34 powered Badgers. Tonally it is very Marshall, with a bit of Vox mixed in. The ported cabinet came with a WGS Veteran 30 (a Vintage 30 type speaker) that didn’t really work for me so I replaced it with a Celestion Creamback M.

It’s not a high gain amp by any stretch but will get you into 70’s hard rock if you use it with the gain up. I’m using it as a pedal platform and am very happy with the results.

It’s a great amp. I can’t recommend this or any of the amps in the Suhr line highly enough.

Wow! Congrats! It sounds like something I would love, too.

I know a guy with that same amp. It’s killer.
The Creamback is such a great speaker. There isn’t much it can’t handle.

Congrats...love EL34 amps...That tube has a truly special sound...
A Mesa Boogie would match the guitar in the background better...

Re: New Amp. Suhr Badger 30

how do the power and drive controls interact? someone told me they work best if they are set close to the same but ive never seen one in the wild to try

Re: New Amp. Suhr Badger 30

They interact nicely if you know how to use them properly. The key is to keep them within two numbers of each other unless you are tuning the power full up. Also, having the drive higher than power produces a fatter and slightly darker tone than if you have the drive below the power.
