New Bass and New To Me Amp

Well I've been playing guitar since 1985 and finally decided to get my first bass..I got a Spector Performer..their lowest cost bass..I have always loved the Spectors since seeing them during my favorite time for music, the 80's. I did have to do the fret ends, all of them and now it plays great.. I did buy my first good bass amp,a Carvin Pro Bass 200 combo with the 1-15" speaker.

The amp was pretty much well taken care of..I did pull the chassis out to Deoxit all the pots and the 5 eq sliders, but overall not even any dust in their,so maybe I got lucky and it sounds really good..lots of thump and plenty of options for me now.

I was wondering for later in time in my bass playing abilities..Haha..about the Sansamp Tech 21 bass driver or the bass para eq..are these mainly when running into say a mixing board or a p a system with the xlr or as a stand alone pedal at home using it as a preamp ? I know I see a lot of people praising them as a must have pedal to have..

Yeah, you can't go wrong with the Sansamp stuff for bass. Our bassist at church uses one going direct and his sound is great.

Get something like this. Though it sounds like you have something similar.
Good stuff. Focus on playing. Can't remember who said it, but it was along the lines of "so, you think that you've got time..."

I originally was going to buy a TNT 100 but decided to wait, then I saw my Carvin 2 weeks later and had to have it..it is rated at 160 watts @ 8 ohms or 50 watts when using a 4 ohm jack..it has a nice gain structure and lots of options,so its perfect for me. I have nothing but time to play..been off work for awhile and looks like thats the way its going to be here on out so plenty of time available ! I like that TNT 130..a few more options than the one I was going to buy.

I found it at a pawn shop for $200 US. I'm running an old Aurial Exciter in the loop.

Wait, 160 watts @ 8 ohms or 50 watts when using a 4 ohm jack? That's a different way to go about it.

I found the manual online for it if you're interested. Looks like it's 80 watts @ 4 ohms per output jack.

Those are solid amps. You should have zero problems getting a great bass tone out of it. You certainly won't need the Sansamp right away.

You are correct about the 80 watts..I was going off another post I read somewhere..I found the manual too..

I have it running at full power 160 watts and it really pumps out some serious bass and the tone is great..I really like the 3 pre shape push in buttons..I hav the low and mid pushed in for some sonic glory !
