I have the Bogner OS2x12 coming today and the Bogner 4x12 straight cab
Should I have them loaded with the standard V30s or Greenbacks?
Before people jump all over V30s as being crappy and harsh in the mids - let me say I am seeking:
1) A rig that works ANY TIME, ANY PLACE. That can mean having to play everything from funk/R&B/Jazz to Hard Rock / Classic Rock etc.
2) You never know who you will be playing with, and I do not want to get eaten by louder rigs.
3) A lot of clubs don't allow loud volumes anymore, so I need a rig that plays well both low volumes and high volumes (this is why G12H's aren't on the list. I don't think they give up the goods without some cranking. Am I wrong?)
I feel like GB's have sweeter tone, but don't handle preamp gain and volume as well as V30s. V30s sound "bigger" to me, but GB's sound sweeter. I do NOT want to own multiple 4x12's.
So based on all around need for versatility and TONE, what would you do?
